Interesting day yesterday. We saw Humpbacks 5 or 6 times. One breached 12 or so times right close to us, going strait up till half of its body was out of the water, then falling over. An incredible sight. We picked up one small Mahi, a 30# Wahoo, a biggish Spanish Mackeral and a Cuda. We pulled the hook on another nice Wahoo close to the boat and missed a few more Wahoo/Cuda bites.
The highlight of the day was a double header of White Marlin, one of which was, by far the biggest I have ever seen. When we first got the leader the fish was black backing and I called it a Blue do to its size. As my deck hand Wonder got the fish closer it rolled on its side, giving me a good look at it's dorsal and anal fins. Most certainly a White. I called it close to 100#. |
